All floors should be free of any protusion, any screwheads, nail heads should be removed or hammered into existing floors.
It is preferable but not imperative that the skirting boards be removed. A beading will have to be used if the skirting boards are not removed to take up the gap of the expansion gap.
The sub floor should be completely flat as any dips or humps will make the LVT click when it is walked upon. This can be achieved by using an all over self leveling screed or a feather edge filler for floors which are almost level.
The room to be fitted should be measured and the planks positioned in such a way so as there are no short planks at either end of the room.
When starting the second row, the first plank should be cut at half the length of the first plank on the first row in order to stagger the joints. Whe staggering joints use a gap of at least 8 inches from the plank on the previous row.
Lvt can either be glued to the floor or loose laid click system, a heat gun can be used to make the plank more pliable.
